We have been fighting to save Bertie Park Recreation Ground for more than 5 years. Oxford City Council want to build social/affordable housing. But more housing increases the need for recreation grounds. The government is now consulting on a policy in its National Planning Policy Framework. It would like to make it easier to build on well-used recreation grounds. Please sign our petition:
(2nd) consultation now finished: 3 support, 357 object. Even the police object details here. OCC say Bertie Park Recreation ground isn’t needed because this area is working class. The need for social housing trumps our need for a recreation ground.
